What the D-Vise is NOT
The D-Vise is NOT a barrel tuner.
Tuners do not apply pressure to shrink the bore diameter.
The D-Vise does not have adjustments to be made. You tighten it when you install it and that’s it.
The D-Vise is not compensating for transverse barrel harmonics which are the harmonics people are usually familiar with.
The weight of the D-Vise does change transverse barrel harmonics somewhat, but it would be impossible for one accessory with one weight at one location to reliably compensate for all barrels.
The lightweight aluminum version is just as effective as the steel version, proving weight is not the issue.
The D-Vise is NOT a suppressor.
The D-Vise does not make any noticeable difference in the sound level of the rifle. There is no internal volume or no baffles capturing any combustion gases in any way that could reduce sound.
The D-Vise does NOT fix bullet flight after the bullet leaves the barrel.
The D-Vise decreases sensitivity to ammunition types and ammunition variation, but all else being equal, higher quality bullets such as match bullets, usually fly better down range.
